Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 7 September 2026

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Trade Pilot website, mobile applications and related services (together, the “Platform”), operated by Trade Pilot (“we”, “us” or “our”), a UK-based SaaS platform. By creating an account or using the Platform you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.

1. Definitions

  • “Homeowner” means a user who posts a job or seeks services through the Platform.
  • “Tradesperson” means a user who offers services, submits bids or quotes, and undertakes work through the Platform.
  • “Credits” means the prepaid virtual units a Tradesperson purchases to bid on jobs.
  • “Content” means any information, text, images, reviews or materials submitted to the Platform.

2. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a legally binding contract under the laws of England and Wales.
  • You must provide accurate, current and complete information when registering and keep it up to date.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details and for all activity under your account.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms or that we reasonably believe are being used unlawfully.

3. The role of Trade Pilot

Trade Pilot is an introduction and marketplace platform only. We connect Homeowners with independent Tradespeople. We are not a party to any contract entered into between a Homeowner and a Tradesperson, and we do not provide, supervise, guarantee or warrant any building, repair or maintenance services.

Any agreement for services is made directly between the Homeowner and the Tradesperson. We are not responsible for the performance, quality, timing, pricing, legality or safety of any work arranged through the Platform. Homeowners are responsible for satisfying themselves as to a Tradesperson’s suitability, and Tradespeople are responsible for the work they carry out.

4. Tradesperson obligations

  • You must hold and maintain all licences, registrations, insurance and qualifications required by law to carry out the services you offer (for example, Gas Safe registration or a valid EICR-competent electrical qualification where relevant).
  • You must provide accurate details about your business, experience and credentials, and supply genuine verification documents on request.
  • You must carry out work with reasonable care and skill, in compliance with applicable laws, building regulations and industry standards.
  • You are solely responsible for your own tax, National Insurance and regulatory obligations.

5. Homeowner obligations

  • Provide accurate job descriptions and any information a Tradesperson reasonably needs to quote and complete the work.
  • Deal fairly and lawfully with Tradespeople and honour agreements you enter into with them.

6. Verification

We may carry out checks on Tradespeople, including reviewing insurance and certification documents. Any verification badge or status is provided in good faith based on the information available to us and does not constitute a guarantee, endorsement or warranty of a Tradesperson’s competence, conduct or the quality of their work.

7. Credits, fees and payments

  • Tradespeople purchase Credits to bid on jobs. Prices for Credit packages are shown at the point of purchase and are inclusive of VAT where applicable.
  • Payments are processed securely by Stripe. By purchasing, you agree to Stripe’s terms in addition to these Terms. We do not store your full card details.
  • Credits are deducted when you bid on a job in accordance with the pricing shown at the time. Credits have no cash value and are not transferable.
  • Except where required by law, purchased Credits are non-refundable. Where you are a consumer and have a statutory right to cancel or a refund, that right is unaffected by this clause. If Credits are deducted due to a proven technical error on our part, we will restore the affected Credits.
  • We may change Credit pricing and package structures from time to time. Changes will not affect Credits already purchased.

8. Reviews and user content

  • You must ensure any Content you submit is accurate, lawful, and not defamatory, offensive, misleading or in breach of any third-party rights.
  • Reviews must reflect genuine experiences. Fake, incentivised or malicious reviews are prohibited.
  • You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display and use the Content you submit for the purpose of operating and promoting the Platform.
  • We may remove Content that we reasonably believe breaches these Terms, but we are not obliged to monitor Content.

9. Prohibited conduct

You must not:

  • use the Platform for any unlawful, fraudulent or harmful purpose;
  • circumvent the Platform to avoid Credits or fees, or attempt to manipulate bids, reviews or rankings;
  • impersonate any person, or misrepresent your identity, credentials or affiliation;
  • upload malware, attempt to gain unauthorised access, or interfere with the Platform’s operation or security;
  • scrape, copy or exploit the Platform or its data without our written permission.

10. Intellectual property

The Platform and all associated content, trademarks, logos and software are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute or create derivative works from the Platform without our prior written consent. You retain ownership of Content you submit, subject to the licence granted in section 8.

11. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties as to the availability, accuracy or reliability of the Platform, or the suitability, conduct or work of any user. We do not guarantee that a Homeowner will find a suitable Tradesperson, or that a Tradesperson will win any work.

12. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law, including your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Subject to the paragraph above:

  • we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from the acts, omissions, services or work of any Homeowner or Tradesperson, or from any agreement made between them;
  • we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of business or loss of goodwill; and
  • our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with the Platform will not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid to us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) £100.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against any claims, losses, liabilities and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Platform, or your infringement of any law or third-party right.

14. Suspension and termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Platform or its users. On termination, any unused Credits are forfeited unless a refund is required by law.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Platform after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

16. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK you may bring proceedings in your home jurisdiction.
